Such number of industries have reduced the high demand for foreign shoes since they try as much as possible to produce shoes with good grade that can be accepted by the majority of Nigerian buyers.

 

However, great thanks still goes to the early innovators of this great idea, the Aba shoe-makers who laid great foundation and exerted great influence in the Nigerian show-making business. Now, instead of shoe importation, Nigerian shoe industries supply shoes to neighboring African countries.

 

As at the year 2020, the number of Nigerian shoe manufacturing industries has exceeded thirty. Some of these industries are foreign industries that decided to bring their branch to the country in other to stand a chance in the market competition with the domestic industries while others were built and setup by individuals who want to go into the shoe making business.

 

These industries are different from the ‘one man’ shoe making business usually found in different cities, and villages. Such individuals make few quantity of foot wears within their neighborhood.
