How To Convert A Generator Engine To A Mobile Vehicle
Homemade engineering seems to be the focus of many engineers that are less busy, the intention could be to make life easier, as a hobby, or to find ways of reducing expenses. An experienced technical engineering expert was able to convert his generator engine into a mobile vehicle.
In an information received online to show off the skill and the wonderful performance of his newly homemade mobile vehicle, the vehicle was seen covering a substantial average speed of about 80km/hour. When operating normally, it could reach an optimum speed of a small bike.
According to the information, the sound of the vehicle revealed its source of power. For instance, the rattling sound of the engine was showing the source of the engine believed to have been obtained from a small generator of very low engine momentum capacity.
The size of the engine was the reason for the running speed and carrying capacity of the mobile vehicle.
Evidence revealed that only one user can ride on it. Besides, the mobile vehicle was not intended for long-distance transportation.
Rather it was designed for very short shuttle services like visiting the nearby gemming center every morning, patrolling around the vicinity, and many other useful applications.
A look into the home-made technology will reveal the intention of the engineer which is to just make a mobile machine to move around within the environment.
One crucial aspect of the design that revealed such intention is the lack of seat or serious comfortable features.
All the rider has to do it to just climb on the vehicle, grab its front handle that has a similar appearance to that of a motorcycle and then put the vehicle on a motion.
The open footpad was meant for standing purpose while the two hands will firmly grab the front handle.
The tires of the vehicles were fixed below the body which is already having a very close range with the ground. Such makes it impossible to access the tires and it sizes from a front view.
The base and tires arrangement is another area the engineer showed a good skill in designing. The design makes it impossible to have any serious tire malfunctioning problem.
Another great consideration is the location of the engine. Though completely hidden from the vehicle surface, the engine seems to had been fixed at the front of the vehicle where the handle has its joint with the entire body.
The intention behind such design could be based on helping the engine to cool using air inflow from the front movement while in motion.
It is an easy way to have a stable cooling system for such engine that could possibly be obtained from a small machine like a petrol generator.
Another hidden design is the link mechanism. The location where the engine is believed to have been placed is a bit far from the back tires, therefore; it could be possible that a good long shaft and gearing arrangement was used to propel the motions of the back tires forcing the vehicle to respond quickly to any speed adjustment.
Since little was said by the engineer, the designs were based on possible ways basic engineering designs work. Below are the photographs of the vehicle as it undergoes short distance road test:
