WHY AFRICA MAY BE THE LAST CONTINENT TO USE HYPERLOOP TRAINS

Hyperloop train is a train using a system known as “hyperloop”. The term “Hyperloop” refers a train system which creates a cross between a Concorde, a railgun, and an air hockey table. According to Musk, It is based on the very high-speed transit system which combines a magnetic levitation train system with a low-pressure tube, i.e: the train will operate in a low pressure surrounding since it will still use tunnels and pods or capsules to move efficiently.

The concept of the Hyperloop train was proposed in 1972, but rather got the government’s nodding in July 2017; the approval was made known through Elon Musk’s tweet shared by pocket-link. com in their hyperloop post. Before this time, lots of firms had gone into practical tests on the possibility of such train according to their concepts.

The train can achieve super speeds which may beat that of the maglev made in Japan which can achieve up to 500km/h. The proposed Hyperloop train can achieve up to 700km/h.

The major difference between the train and that of the maglev made in Japan is that the maglev rely only on the electromagnetic levitation on the rail tracks while the Hyperloop will travel in a vacuum having low-pressure to reduce air resistance while still working on the magnetic levitation principle. The hyperloop trains will be shorter in length and width than previous trains, that is because of the super speed it will have so that it can be possible to make a quick stop and start for shuttle services.

According to our research, the train will replace or serve as an alternative for domestic air-flight, some states in the U.S. had been mapped out to be the first place the train will be built.

HOW PREPARED IS AFRICA FOR THE TRAIN?

According to online research Asian countries such as Japan and China had earlier indicated interest in speed trains of which the maglev speed train was the result as it built in Japan with speed capacity of 500km/h. African countries have not shown much interest in regard to speed trains such as the Hyperloop model currently in development and that can make its entrance to African countries longer than could be expected.
