
Just as a lot had been said about the latest flying car, EHANG 184. Sikorsky had just released their innovation for an electric helicopter.
In an information made available by by AVweb, the U.S. based firm said it wants to replace an existing small gasoline helicopter to become electrically driven powered by rechargeable batteries.

According to the commentary, the initial helicopter using gasoline engine has the following picture to illustrate its design.

With the fuel tank above the blade shaft which stands vertically at the back of the pilot seating position, the engine’s exhaust system connected through a pipe to the back shaft that lies horizontal and bears the back rotor of the helicopter.
The engine can be found just below the vertical shaft.
These features were changed to the new design which is meant to become an electric helicopter. A look at the picture below will illustrate the design of the proposed electric helicopter.

The place of the helicopter gasoline engine had been replaced with air-cooled electric motors which have an integrated speed controller.
By the front side of the electric motors is where the rechargeable electric batteries were packed, with other designs of the original helicopter being the same, the helicopter was able to fly and remained in the air for about 15 minutes.

The instrument panel was built to digitally control the electric motors and give feedback to the pilot such as the Battery strength and remaining time duration for freight, motor speeds and temperatures, and other major mechanical and electric signals for the purpose of safely monitoring what is going on in the helicopter.
The Sikorsky electric helicopter innovations believe that their design can be improved upon as the time goes by and that the purpose of the invention to help in eliminating carbon gas emission usually caused by gasoline engines from the environment.
