HOW TRAINS ARE WASHED AUTOMATICALLY

Unlike every other mobile vehicles, trains are washed regularly. However, the washing process of the trains is quite different from that of the cars and airplanes. Instead of a car wash type or wait and wash pattern of airplanes, the long Trains have unique washing technology that makes it possible to be washed while ‘on the go’.

This system of washing simply means that the long Train will be washed as it travels along its paths through the automatic washing stations positioned at various units or sections of the railway. As the Train travels along its paths, it activates the washing sections of its outer body positioned at various areas along the railway. Once activated, the machine sprays pressurized warm water on the outer body of the train just as its entire length continues to pass through the unit.

The spraying of the hot or warm pressurized water will be coming out from the entire sides of the railway area such that each path of the Train that pass through it will have all its outer body completely washed.

The Train washing station is a well-equipment unit of a railway service mounted along the path of moving Trains. With the use of sensors, the washing station receives signal of a moving Train and activates its warm or hot water spraying nozzles which splashes pressurized water on the body of the Train and force trapped dirt on it to fall off.

Though this service may not be available in all railways but is has become a norm in well-equipped railway operations. Some Trains may be washed manually based on the poor service of the railway operations, the use of automatic Train washing station is ideal for busy railways and Trains that cannot be kept idle for hours just for washing purpose.

From the video shown below, it can be seen that the washing of entire body of a Train could take place in less that 5minutes just as it passes through the Train washing station. The operation is so fast that even those inside the Train may not take note of the washing operation taking place outside.

Consider the above operation as fast washing operation while on the go. It is less time consuming, it is safe, saves money and time, and provides special washing using warm/hot pressurized water.
