UNDERSTANDING HOW TO PERMANENTLY DELETE YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT
The previous posts did not actually give us details as regarding the permanent way we can delete our Facebook account that is what this post tends to achieve.
Actually, Facebook is known in its reluctant to let the user’s accounts to be totally deleted. In the real sense, Facebook tends to keep some of your account details even when you have requested for permanent account deletion.
To get your Facebook account totally deleted it usually takes time and a precise procedure must be followed in that regard.
For instance, Facebook offers a possible restoration period of 30days for the account to be restored in case you change your mind. During this period the user can still log in to the profile or any third party app linked to that Facebook account and then reverse the deletion process.
To delete the account you need to first of all restrict who can view your profile, and regularly remove cookies collected by the platform. Though, those actions will not guarantee total privacy, but they can limit the level of your information available to public especially when you want to delete your account permanently. A major, important precaution is to ensure that the major information had been stored in the Facebook server before your request.
If you are using a desktop computer, the following will help you to delete your Facebook account;
Go to your ‘SETTINGS’ click on the tab in the drop-menu in the top right side.
Press the ‘YOUR FACEBOOK INFORMATION’ tab. Then move to the ‘Deactivation or Deletion’ tab.
Select “DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT PERMANENTLY” & hence proceed to click the “CONTINUE” tab.
During this process, you will be asked to save any of your data especially the Photos and Timeline posts. You will also need to edit any groups you are the administrator. Is either you save your data then request for delete or you can just click the “DELETE ACCOUNT” option.
The next step is to put your login password in a small pop-up form and the press the “CONTINUE” button.
At this stage, there will be a Pop-up warning notifying you concerning the Facebook’s 30 days deactivation period. This gives you a chance to log in later to cancel in case you later decide not to delete the account. At this stage you need not make any other input.
If you are using an Android Phone, here are steps you can use to delete your Facebook account;
Press the three horizontal lines at the bottom right corner of your screen. Then choose “SETTINGS” from the “Settings and Privacy”.
Scroll down to the Facebook account information page and press the “Account Ownership & Control “ tab.
Click on the “Delete & Deactivation” tab
Choose the “Account Delete” tab and press the “Continue to account deletion” tab.
At this stage you will be given choice to deactivate your account rather than deleting it, save your files, and manage pages that you administers. Click on the “ACCOUNT DELETE” option to confirm with your choice in order to proceed to the next stage.
The next thing is a prompt popup form asking you to insert your login password. This is a normal security measures put in place by Facebook to prevent unauthorized account deletion request.
Enter your login password in the form and click “CONTINUE” tab below the form.
The next page will prompt you about the 30 days grace for reactivation in case you later change your mind below it is a tab to confirm your account deletion request, there you will select “Delete account” option again. At this stage, your account is ready for deletion.
