Ultratech has released a newly discovered material that shows high level of cohesion property in its liquid form. The released through the interesting created an awareness on how effective the material can be keeping cloths free of stains.
While in its liquid form filled with colored agent, the material was filled in a bucket and pour on a shirt. Instead soaking or wetting the shirt and causing the coloring agent to stick on the shirt, it formed a strong cohesive within its molecules and quickly rolled-off from the shirt’s surface. Meanwhile, similar result conducted with water showed a different result where the shirt got stained and wet with the water and the color agent in it.
When tested between a wet concrete and a dried concrete , it showed higher repel for the wet than the dry . this feature shows its high repel for water and any surface it occupies. while on the dry surface, the cohesion was less and it did not roll off as it did on the surface of the wet .
It is a liquid that can promise ultra-dryness to every surface it is poured. Its ability to stick together within its molecules makes it appear like the mercury in its liquid form. It is also super hydrophobic for coating purpose where no penetration of water is allowed.
There is more to this material’s application than mere experiments. Using its liquid state as an advantage, the material has the potential of shading a considerable area or surface away from water drops.
Materials such as water, oils, and wet concrete can be repelled by it, causing a sharp cohesion bonding within its molecules. Details of possible areas of application of the material in modern has not been given. However, evidence showed that it will have vital areas of application especially in the aspect of vibration control, and surface coating, etc.
